Mark described these three as genuine conversions, something that is not too common. One woman and her daughter had never attended a church service prior to her attending First Indian during the revival. She was there every night!

Our Schedule
Saturday – Visited Flea Market in Gallup. This gave us a real feel for the Navaho culture of the area in which we would be working in. We also witnessed firsthand the presence of several cults that were active in the area. We met with Mark, Beverly, and Robert to tour their facilities and review possible ministry activities for the week.

Sunday – Worshiped at First Indian, a.m. Led revival service (preaching and music) at First Indian, 7:00 p.m.

Monday – One team of people prepared ministry bags for distribution at area Laundromats. We distributed washing powder, tracts, New Testaments, flyers advertising the revival and free lunches during the week, and candy in seven (7) area Laundromats. We also distributed New Testaments and fed five (5) men near one of the areas we were working in. Aside from distributing dozens of tracts and Bibles, we probably had about 6-8 good witnessing conversations during these efforts. It was a blessing to see people read their New Testaments openly afer receiving them.

A second team repaired several light and plumbing fixtures at the church. This required some rewiring, replacing ballasts and repairing a toilet.

Tuesday – Our team prepared lunch for the community. Although, we only had a few people show up the first day, we were able to feed another mission team that was working at the Church Rock Mission site. We also were able to provide many sandwiches that the Church Rock team was able to take back to the reservation. Some of our team participated in a morning hike to the summit of Pyramid Rock at Red Rock State Park. In the afternoon our team spent several hours at the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest, about an hour East of Gallup in Arizona.

Wednesday – On Tuesday, we placed an ad on a local Indian Radio station about our free lunches. Through our flyers, word of mouth, and the radio station, word was getting out about our free lunches. We served about 20 at the church. There were some wonderful opportunities to listen to the people who came and share the love of God with them. We made sure that each person had an opportunity to receive a Bible and some warm clothes. Coats and other clothes were made available.

Several team members loaded up some soup and sandwiches and we delivered 13 meals to people within a mile or so of the church. Each person received a meal, a tract and a good word about Jesus! This resulted in several positive witnessing opportunities. The people were very grateful to receive a hot cup of homemade soup, especially since the weather had turned cold.
